BUCHMAN LAW FIRM, LLP

As we start the New Year 2017, we are pleased to announce two noteworthy changes in the Firms business development.

First, our Senior Associate, Adena Santiago, will become our Responsible D.C. Attorney, the first time in many years that the Firm has based an attorney at the D.C. office. While the TTB has significantly reduced its direct contact time, we have noted increased licensing needs in Maryland and Virginia, in addition to the growth of local licensing practice in D.C. proper. Adena, who is a Member of the Bars in CA, NJ, NY and D.C., will bring her 10 years of experience as a liquor attorney, where she has skillfully handled federal, state and local liquor licensing and regulatory matters for the Firms client base in all three tiers. Her professional development also includes providing seminars on compliance guidelines covering federal and state trade practice issues, as well as crafting and reviewing agreements related to the beverage alcohol industry. While Adena will be primarily involved with licensing, she will also initiate trademark matters with the US Patent & Trademark Office, and continue to assist with federal labeling and formulation filings, as the key contact person in the D.C. office.

Second, we have invited Jerry R. Wages, recently retired as Chief, Application Section, at the TTB in Cincinnati, OH, to become a Technical Advisor to our Firm on TTB Permit matters. Jerry, a former Marine, received a degree in Business Management and shortly after hire with the TTB was promoted to a tax specialist. Several years later he was advanced to Supervisor and, in 2008, he became Chief of the Brewery Section. Upon TTBs reorganization, he remained as Chief of the Applications Section until his retirement in 2016. We believe his exceptional background and aptitude will greatly enhance our ability to service you. This is especially with regard to the timing to obtain new and/or file changes regarding Basic Permits, as Jerry was primarily involved at TTB with developing and managing the Permits Online system as well as working on related TTB issues in all commodities, including Wine, Beer, Distilled Spirits, Wholesalers/Importers, Tax Free, and Specially Denatured Spirits.

Our Firm is committed to providing our clients with the highest quality of service and taking significant steps to modernize our practice, such as those involving the advancement of Adena to run the D.C. office and welcoming of Jerry to our Firm. From offices on both the East and West Coasts, and now with Jerry in Cincinnati, we look forward to continuing to serve you in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
